Well since these guys got caught on camera and apparently people even in Yemen are angry and this has caused a backlash and Al Qaeda have responded with an apology. It seems a low level commander disobeyed orders not to attack the hospital and Al Qaeda are a little upset at this guy. Al Bum Had A Reason, What Was Your Excuse? - Pat Fear Tribute

Unless you live outside of the state, country or farther than 200 miles away, as it was on a Thursday and only announced 2 days prior after all, I don't know how humans from Riverside did not show up for this event. People from all over everywhere else found time to go, but the majority of Riverside musicians that seemingly looked up to Bill were just plain absent. Possibly I am missing something here not being part of the cool guy scene in Riverside, but even some I know who live in Los Angeles did not show, Tony from The Adolescents found time to walk among the people, I doubt the backstage area could contain the Riverside contingent that should have been there but maybe I am wrong.
Friends of Bill started the night off almost garage rock style and the kids got treated to obscure punk classics, The Germs(reformed and this gig with Charlotte Caffey) found time to be there and get the crowd really going , The Adolescents as they are now were there and tearing it up and the remnants of  White Flag did their part as well, minus Al Bum and the late great Bill Bartell known to the world of punk rock as Pat Fear, but not hearing the people from Riverside yelling between songs made me think. The White Flag set I hate to say got far less notice from the younger crowd as did the other bands but that was how it was to an extent back then in the good old days. I did leave before Red Kross I will admit, Bill would have understood as he knows how I am, at least I showed up and acted the way Bill would have remembered if it were 1982 all over again.
Watching flying-v's all night on stage was bitchen, the stories, jokes, the bands and people who took time, my 2 friends who came out, made the night something really fucking cool, someone posted that as nice as this is, it should have been done while Bill was alive, and I couldn't agree more except it would have to be a roast and not a tribute then. Perhaps the tight knit punk community in SoCal, the original DIY music movement needs to think about "Roasting" some of our pioneers.
I have to thank the Flipside Memorial FB crew for alerting me to this event, without them I would have been like the other faceless nameless Riverside rift raft that never showed. I want to thank Davi or is it Davy? A nice lady with an Al Bum face cut out on a stick, she took my pic with Al so I could be with him at the gig, Al is in the hospital and not able to attend, and with the show happening so fast it just happened that way I guess. DJ Howie Pyro spun the best Bill Bartell favorites in between bands and that was like hanging out with Bill one last time, I still have my White Flag, never going to lose that...

Deathfest Is Go!

Heading out to Los Angeles to see a kick ass dentist and if pain and time permit I will head south from Glendale into Hawthorne to visit Century Media Distro to pick up a will call order. I also have secured a Friday and Saturday ticket for Deathefest. I will be at the Edison Lot to enjoy some excellent black/death metal. Looking forward to seeing Ulver, Solstafir and Dark Angel and doing some serious headbanging.

What you see in the video is the attack that killed not only innocent civilians receiving aid but the medical staff treating them. As with most Liveleak vids it is graphic, you see a doctor or nurse get her head blown apart at close range and another get gunned down not but a few feet away. The most sickening part if any one component can receive this tag is when you see innocent people huddled and scared and then a terrorist walks up and tosses a hand grenade to them. You will also see someone trying to crawl to safety only to be executed. If this is ok with you simply because it doesn't happen here think about this, the mall attack in Kenya was a test run for a mission abroad, like here where we have all these malls sitting out in the open, and recently it has been discussed that all the attackers got away. If that is in fact the case those 4 guys have a lot of experience causing significant damage and loss of life. Each on of those guys with 3 or 4 under him would be very dangerous...

What I Saw Yesterday

I had to pay a speeding ticket yesterday and while in line a lady comes out and gives a speech about how the budget cuts have caused them to have only 2 windows out of 7 open to handle the business and the wait would be around 3 hours. After confirming I could pay my ticket online up to 3 days late I left fast like to go downtown to pay my property taxes. When I arrived to the floor and the office with all the windows to pay I was, as usual the only person there, no line, with 4 open windows and 4 live humans just sitting there. They all greeted me at the same time and I was free to choose the window I wanted. 4 people doing very little with no line, and I had just come from a projected 3 hour wait caused by "budget" cuts. California politics are a joke.
I also saw a high speed chase on the freeway too...

 This is a space station and 4 different ships I designed in Blender, ever since I was a kid I was fascinated with Sci-Fi and spaceflight in general, so it is natural I gravitated to making this kind of stuff once the basic operation of Blender became normal activity.
My models are going to be used in a animation I am working on, mostly in background shots, but it is a start. I am slowly getting to the level that I can build better models and it is more fun to build than hunt them.

I had quite a day communicating with a friend whom I have a deep respect for, a guy who was ahead of his time in the digital era, and I was able to get out of my house and visit with some friends and touch one of my project bikes. I was also a passenger in the backseat of a car today and saw 5 or 6 small dogs standing next to a busy street in a driveway, and it pretty much deflated my happy balloon knowing these little guys don't have much of a chance living like that, and it pisses me off that a human put them into that position in the first place. I am one of those people who normally stops to help out in that situation and have been petty good over the years of helping when I can. Being stuck in the backseat when you need it the most is a helpless feeling.
The day is coming to an end here and the nights are getting colder, we have been in the 30's and I need to start warming up my bedroom.
